Psychedelic plants and mushrooms have been used safely and ceremoniously for thousands of years for personal development, spiritual growth, and healing.
They offer us the ability to reconnect with nature, ourselves, and each other at a time when we need it most.
Decriminalize Nature has already empowered 25 cities to decriminalize psychedelic plants and mushrooms, but we need your support to be sure no one goes to jail for engaging with these gifts from nature.
I am calling on our elected officials to decriminalize the possession, growing, sharing, and use of psychedelic plants and fungi and end the senseless prosecution of these victimless “crimes”.
I urge our legislators to deschedule all naturally occurring forms psilocybin/psilocin, DMT, mescaline, and ibogaine from the list of controlled substances as none of these have been found to be habit forming and all have been reported to have a high potential for therapeutic and medical use.
Restricting equitable access to these sacred entheogens is a crime against humanity. Restoring our human right to develop our own relationship with nature is essential to upholding the personal and religious freedoms this country was founded on.

Dear Congress,
I ___________ urge you to decriminalize and deschedule the personal possession, growing, sharing, and use of naturally occurring psychedelic plants and mushrooms.
- I ask that you end the unnecessary investigation, arrest, and prosecution of individuals engaging in the use of these entheogenic plants and fungi for psychological and/or spiritual growth and healing.
- An entheogen is defined as: a hallucinogenic or psychoactive substance, usually derived from a plant or fungus, and typically used as part of a religious or spiritual experience. The prohibition of these entheogens is a violation of the personal and religious freedoms this country was founded on, therefore, all prior charges for these victimless crimes should also be dismissed.
- Schedule 1 substances are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse; however, none of the following substances are found to be habit forming and many studies and personal reports have found these substances to have a high potential for therapeutic and medical use. Therefore, It is imperative that you take immediate action to remove the following psychedelic plants and fungi from the list of Schedule 1 drugs; Fungi containing psilocybin and psilocin, plants containing ibogaine, cacti containing mescaline, and naturally occurring forms of dimethyltryptamine (DMT) including plant combinations similar to ayahuasca.
Furthermore, I also request that the Federal Government recognize and protect the right of states and local jurisdictions to permit their residents to engage in community healing ceremonies involving the use of entheogenic plants and fungi without fear of arrest and prosecution when practiced in accordance with generally recognized risk reduction guidelines.
